Loving Meditation

Just meditate.  That was something that sounded good to me but I could never get the hang of it!  Sit quietly and breathe.  Hmmmm…nope, the shopping list, the job list, the forgotten to do list all kept swamping my “quiet” mind.  No quietness here.

Perhaps guided meditation??  The tinkling sounds and strange accents tended to put me off. Never quite felt in the zone, if you know what I mean.

Group meditation virtually, now that was something new and actually started me off on the right track. It was a bit strange to start with as it is primarily silent but it gives you a little job to do through the meditation which actually helped me to relax, then it is a fairly simple process:

20 minute meditation in total.

  • 5 minutes of focusing on your breath in, counting to 10 each breath
  • 5 minutes of focusing on your breath out, counting to 10 each breath
  • 5 minutes of focusing on any sensation in your body
  • 5 minutes of focusing sensation near your nose and mouth.

The best thing is what happens next! Once I was able to consistently meditate and switch off I have become an inspiration magnet, which I love.
